Trainer Level Scheme

1. What is the PECB Trainer Level Scheme?

The Trainer Level Scheme was introduced to formally recognize and reward trainers who demonstrate consistent activity, high performance, and strong learner satisfaction. It creates a transparent and merit-based framework that values measurable contribution to the PECB network.

The scheme includes multiple levels (Gold, Platinum, Titanium), each reflecting increasing achievement and performance thresholds.

10. If I deliver many training days but my rating is below the threshold, will I qualify?

No. You must meet both the minimum training days and the required cumulative average rating to obtain a level.

11. What do I need to do to improve my level?

  • Deliver more official PECB training days within the calendar year
  • Maintain or improve your participant evaluation ratings

12. How does TLS encourage performance improvement?

Since both training days and evaluation ratings are required to qualify, trainers are encouraged not only to increase their activity but also to maintain high participant satisfaction. Performance is measured annually, allowing trainers to reach a higher level based on improved results. By recognizing active and high-performing trainers, the Trainer Level Scheme promotes excellence, healthy competition, and continuous professional development within the PECB trainer community.

2. What are the criteria for each level?

To qualify for a level, a trainer must meet both criteria for training days lectured and cumulative average rating:

  • Gold Trainer
    • Minimum 25 annual training days lectured
    • Minimum cumulative average rating of 4.0
  • Platinum Trainer
    • Minimum 50 annual training days lectured
    • Minimum cumulative average rating of 4.5
  • Titanium Trainer
    • Awarded by invitation only

Note: Trainers who do not meet the criteria will retain the designation Certified and will continue to appear on the PECB Trainer website.

3. How often are Trainer Levels evaluated?

Trainer Levels are reviewed annually. Training days are counted from January 1 to December 31, and the average rating is based on participant evaluations recorded during the last 3 years.

The process is automatic and based on officially recorded training activity and system evaluation results. No application is required.

4. How long is a Trainer Levels valid?

The level is valid for one year and is subject to reassessment during the next evaluation cycle. Trainers’ levels may be upgraded, stay the same or be downgraded, depending on their performance in the subsequent evaluation period.

5. How is a “training day” calculated?

A training day is determined by standard course durations:

  • Lead courses = 5 days
  • Risk Manager courses = 3 days
  • Foundation/Transition courses = 2 day

6. Can trainers upgrade their level over time?

Yes. Trainers are evaluated annually based on their performance during the defined period. Improved activity and ratings may result in progression to a higher level. Since levels are evaluated annually, failure to meet the defined criteria during the next evaluation cycle may result in a different level designation.

7. What is the Titanium level?

Titanium is the highest trainer level, awarded by invitation only to recognize exceptional contribution, experience, and consistent high performance within the PECB trainer network. This level is intended to honor long-standing excellence and does not expire.

8. How are trainers informed of their level?

Trainers who qualify for a level receive formal communication detailing the level achieved, along with the badge and certificate that will be reflected on their trainer profile on the PECB website. Trainers who do not meet the level criteria will remain Certified and will continue to appear as such on the website.

9. Does achieving a level affect my trainer certification validity?

No. Trainer levels are a recognition mechanism. Your trainer certification validity depends on meeting renewal requirements separately, which are:

  • Maintain all certificates for courses trainers teach
  • Deliver at least one course during 3-year cycle
  • Maintain an average rating of 3.5 and above during 3-year cycle
  • Present PECB brand and services accurately
  • Sign the Trainer Agreement
